EMW Wins NATO Contract To Standardize And Upgrade Allied Command Transformation Network
Herndon, Virginia — EMW, Inc. of Herndon, Virginia USA
has been awarded a new NATO Contract by the NATO Consultation, Command
and Control Agency (NC3A) in Brussels, Belgium, to ensure that the
Allied Command Transformation (ACT)/NATO CIS Services Agency (NCSA)
NU LAN is standardized and upgraded to be consistent with all Public
Access LANs throughout ACT and Allied Command Operation (ACO), and
thus create a NATO-wide consistent baseline in the NU domain space. The
main project objective will be to extend the Bi-SC Core Capability
at ACT, and NCSA Sector Norfolk to the Public Access domains. Eventually,
all Commands, currently in different domains, will migrate to a single
domain and single forest Active Directory structure. This specific
project will take care of the migration of the ACT Command at ACT
HQ to this domain.
EMW will provide ACT and NCSA with:
- Computers, Laptops and Peripheral Equipments
- Networking Hardware and any local cable and wiring support
- Related Software
- Servers to support Firewall, DBMS, DMS, EMS, Antivirus, Print,
Web, Storage and Infrastructure Services
- Hard/software to support security service requirements
- Replacement of any substandard hardware
- A Remote User e-Mail and/or File Access Capability
- Contract Support to install the system and, if required, do
the system transition work required
- Identification of O&M
The switch infrastructure will need a partial upgrade/extension
of the end-user switches to accommodate extra users.
This project will ensure that any server or client will be migrated
to the latest NATO approved commercial Microsoft Windows version.
This is to ensure that the Public Access LAN hardware and software
components are harmonized with those of other Bi-SC AIS networks
to better fit into the command’s O&M support environment
and reduce training/lifecycle costs. This effort includes the migration
of server applications and client applications to new platforms.
The work on this contract will be conducted by EMW in Herndon,
Virginia, USA, at its Belgian office and NC3A in Brussels, and
at HQ ACT in Norfolk, Virginia.
