EMW Awarded NATO Contract to Provide CCTV at KABUL International Airport, Afghanistan
Herndon, Virginia — EMW, Inc. has been awarded a NATO Consultation, Command, and Control Agency (NC3A) contract to provide a Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) System at Kabul International Airport (KAIA) in Afghanistan.
NATO forces are currently deployed at KAIA to support the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) mission. ISAF is currently operating from the Southern part of the runway in KAIA, and is to relocate all operating and living facilities to the Northern part of the runway. Force Protection of KAIA North compound is a critical capability that needs to be available when the move starts. A Closed Circuit TeleVision (CCTV) System is required as part of the overall Force Protection Concept. The purpose of this project is to deliver the CCTV System in KAIA, which will use cameras dispersed around KAIA compound, and be remotely controlled from a single Ground Defense Command Centre (GDCC) hosted in the Main Air Operations Centre (AOC) building basement.

In addition to site surveys to determine surveillance locations and positioning, and installation of the Pan-Tilt-Zoom Cameras, EMW will install projectors, screens, and associated equipment, and a hospital staff paging system. Equipment installed in a Technical Center will include Digital Video Recording capability. EMW will be responsible for connectivity of the entire system, including that between the Technical Center and an Operations Center located in the GDCC.
