EMW wins NATO contract to oversee Logistics for NATO’s General Purpose Communication Systems (NGCS)
Herndon, Virginia — EMW has won a NAMSA Maintenance and Supply Agency contract
for the NATO CIS Services Agency (NCSA) to support and maintain NATO’s
General Purpose Communication Systems composed of Circuits Switched Component
(CSC) providing voice services, Packet Transport Component (PTC) providing data
transport services, and Bandwidth Management Equipment (BME) providing connectivity
between NATO commands. The statement of work covers on-site, day-to-day supply,
logistics and property accounting support to NCSA SMD Transmission Branch for
logistics coordination of NGCS CSC, PTC and BME equipment.

supply actions for the NGCS CSC, PTC and BME components |

of the assigned NATO BME system |
| • |
To maintain an accurate record of all BME
equipment for property accounting, equipment management and
for configuration management purposes. |
| • |
To co-ordinate with NATO Maintenance and Supply
Agency (NAMSA), NATO Support Units (NSU) and NATO Communication
Logistic Depots (CLD), on behalf of NCSA on all NGCS BME related

equipment logistics related tasks. |

This critical activity administers bandwidth management for the wide
area network providing the vital communications link for all NATO
countries and commands. The precision administration of bandwidth,
synchronized with multiple layers of switching components, optimizes
the networks dissemination of voice, video, and data packets. Ultimately
this endeavor ensures a robust communications network is always available
for the war fighter, first line defenders, and normal daily operations.
